Q & A with Chris Sale

It took 13 picks before Major League Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig called out Chris Sale’s name in this year’s draft. That still makes his the second highest player drafted from southwest Florida since Matt LaPorta from Charlotte High School in 2007. 6-Man Football

There is a league of  high schools in Florida that participate in a unique form of football; 6-Man football, a version of the grid-iron game made popular in the rural regions of Texas.  This version is played on a shorter field and combined scores in the 100’s are typical.  WGCU’s Luis Hernandez reports on the newest crop of schools to join the league from the state’s southern region.

Less-Lethal Weapons Testing at FGCU

In an unmarked building, not far from Florida Gulf Coast University, Dr. Charles Mesloh is teaching criminal justice students how to test less-lethal weapons used by law enforcement.  On one particular day they’re testing claims of a weapons ability that was made on a popular television program.  WGCU’s Luis Hernandez reports.
