Phosphate Mine Expansion Questioned

The Charlotte Harbor
estuary may soon have another phosphate mine in its watershed. CF
Industries recently applied to extend its mine by seventy-five hundred
acres. Although the mine is in Hardee County, it’s raised concerns
about water from residents downstream in Charlotte County.  WGCU’s

A female wild dolphin followed for thirty-eight years by Sarasota’s Mote Marine Laboratory recently died of what appears to be natural causes. The animal was part of the world’s longest-running study of a wild dolphin population. WGCU’s Farah Dosani reports.

Gun Safety

the past three years, Lee Memorial Trauma Center has seen an increasing
trend in gunshot wounds in children. Following the recent shooting of a
young child, trauma surgeons urge parents to be vigilant and practice
