TSA at RSW

Survivors United in Naples

Saturday marks the second annual Survivors United in Naples Community Walk at Sugden Regional Park. The fundraiser benefits the crisis intervention work by the non-profit Project HELP, which works with victims of sexual assault and other violent crimes as well as grieving loved ones after a suicide or homicide. As WGCU’s John Davis reports, Project HELP’s small staff is working hard to meet an increased need for services in the down economy.

Sea Turtle Nesting Season Ends

Sea Turtle nesting season is now over for 2010. As the late night and dawn beach monitoring work ends, sea turtle biologists and environmental specialists are beginning to log and interpret their data. And despite alarming decreases in the number of nests over the past decade, preliminary numbers show a significant increase this year in the number of nests state-wide. WGCU’s John Davis reports.
