Miccosukee Water System Upgraded

The
Miccosukee Tribe is getting its water system upgraded - thanks in part
to funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.

Bridging Tamiami Trail

Since
the 1920s the Tamiami Trail has acted as a dam across the Everglades,
stopping the historic north/south flow of water.  Now a long-considered
plan to increase water flow is moving forward.  WGCU’s Mike Kiniry

Back Pumping Ruling

A federal appeals court yesterday reversed a judge’s ruling saying that the South Florida Water Management District violated the Clean Water Act by pumping polluted canal water into Lake Okeechobee.  Water managers say the pumping is necessary…environmental advocates say they’ll appeal.  WGCU’s Mike Kiniry reports.
