Mote Shark Tag

Scientists at Mote Marine Laboratory in Sarasota are celebrating the return of a shark tag after more than a decade out at sea. The time between tagging and recapture is a new record for the 17-year-old program. WGCU's Luis Hernandez has more.

Sharkwater - the Film

A new film depicting the threat facing the world’s oldest predator is making its Florida theatrical debut tonight here in Southwest Florida at AMC Merchant’s Crossing in North Fort Myers, and Regal Bonita Springs. Eagle Killed in Manatee County

A Sarasota attorney is making it his personal mission to find those responsible for shooting and killing a bald eagle in Manatee County last week. So far he’s raised 15-thousand dollars in reward money to find and convict the culprit. WGCU’s Luis Hernandez has more.

Euthanized Whale

A team of scientists worked for two days to save a sperm whale stranded in the shallow waters near the mouth of Tampa Bay. However, their efforts were in vain. Bobbie O’Brien reports.
