Orioles in Sarasota?

Sarasota County Commissioners meet Tuesday to discuss settling a lawsuit which threatens to end the County’s 31 million dollar deal to become the spring training home for major league baseball’s Baltimore Orioles.  WGCU’s John Davis reports.

After losing the Cincinnati Reds to Arizona and failing to lure the Boston Red Sox from Fort Myers, Sarasota may have staved off the loss of spring training. This means Lee County has to find another team – or sport to fill the soon to be gap at City of Palms Park. WGCU’s Luis Hernandez reports.

Dolphins Reach out to Southwest Florida

Miami
Dolphins CEO Mike Dee joined a number of former players and local
officials, as well as a couple hundred cheering kids and a few Dolphins
cheerleaders at the Estero Community Park today.  They were there to
announce the teams’ plans to reach out to fans in southwest
Florida…starting with a youth clinic on July 29th at Buckingham Park.  WGCU’s Valerie Alker
