APD’s New Executive Director

There is a new person in charge at Florida’s Agency for Persons with Disabilities. Governor Charlie Crist tapped Jim DeBeaugrine (Duh-BO-Grin) yesterday to be the Agency’s new Executive Director. Trimmel Gomes reports.

Stop War on Iran Protest in Naples

A group of demonstrators will gather on the corner of Pine Ridge Road and U-S 41 in Naples Saturday at noon to protest what they say is the Bush Administration’s increasingly hostile rhetoric toward Iran. WGCU’s Mike Kiniry reports.

Lobster Diving Safety

In 2006 four divers died in the Florida Keys during the state’s 2-day mini lobster season. The 2008 season is this Wednesday and Thursday. A new initiative aims to make these mini-seasons safer. WGCU’s Valerie Alker reports.

P-FLAG

Parents, Friends, and Families of Lesbians and Gays, or P-FLAG, is holding an interfaith convocation this Sunday in Naples. Spiritual leaders from a variety of congregations throughout Southwest Florida take part in the worship service aimed at promoting the acceptance of homosexuals in faith-based communities.
