The Southwest Florida Symphony Orchestra is looking for a new Music Director.

Its management did not renew Michael Hall’s contract.

Students returning for fall classes at Florida Gulf Coast University today will have a new building on campus.  The Bower School of Music’s new facility combines top of the line acoustics, performance space, and equipment.  As WGCU’s John Davis reports, the new building reflects the music program’s explosive growth in recent years.

He may be a champion fly fisherman, but he’s best known as a classical guitarist. Christopher Parkening is performing tonight in Fort Myers with baritone Jubilant Sykes. The artists have been working together for more than a decade, but recently released their first CD “Jubilant”. Susan Giles Wantuck spoke with Parkening recently about their collaboration.
