ACLU Sues Foreclosure Courts

The American Civil Liberties Union filed a petition today/Thursday with a state appellate court challenging the process and procedures of Florida’s foreclosure courts. WGCU’s John Davis reports.

Sarasota Foreclosure Case

Lax oversight on foreclosure procedures have several leading banks investigating and even in some cases halting foreclosures. Meanwhile some federal lawmakers are calling for an industry-wide moratorium. Foreclosure Workshop

According to the latest numbers from Realty Trac, foreclosure activity is leveling off throughout the country, but Florida’s foreclosure rate is still high, ranking third in the nation.  The department of financial services is holding a workshop in Immokalee Saturday to get homeowners talking to lenders about avoiding foreclosure.  WGCU’s John Davis has more.
