Healthy Start – Cigarette Tax

The
Florida Association of Healthy Start Coalitions is pushing for a new
tax on some small cigarette makers.  The goal is to close a loophole in
the 1998 tobacco settlement agreement.  WGCU’s Chelsey Stoner reports.

National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day

National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day is this Saturday. Florida has the nation’s third highest AIDS rates for blacks. Local health departments and HIV support organizations are using the day to target high risk groups. WGCU’s John Davis has more.
