Virtual Dementia Tour
According
to the Alzheimer’s Association more than five million Americans are
afflicted with the disease, with a new case diagnosed every 70
seconds. Folks with Alzheimer’s or other age-related dementia can
require intensive care. In an effort to sensitize caregivers, one
elder advocate created what’s called the Virtual Dementia Tour: a
sensory simulation giving people a glimpse into the mind of someone
struggling with dementia. WGCU’s John Davis took the tour and prepared
this report.

Free CPR & AED Classes

As part of CPR and AED awareness week in June the Urgent Care Center of Southwest Florida is trying to get more people certified in the proper use of both. So it’s offering free classes. WGCU’s Luis Hernandez reports.
