Gas Platform

A public hearing was held recently in Manatee County on developing an offshore natural gas platform in the Gulf of Mexico. It would be the largest artificial structure off Florida's coast. Steve Newborn has more.

Farm to Fuel Program

Biofuel Trees in Lee County

The use of corn ethanol as an alternative fuel source is cause of much debate. So Florida and Lee County officials are looking further. Lieutenant Governor Jeff Kottcamp joined Lee County Commissioner Ray Judah and others to plant the first of a unique tree last week in Orange River Park. WGCU’s Luis Hernandez reports how some feel this tree is a better alternative as a bio-fuel, yet it’s not all good news.
