Governor
Charley Crist may call a special session of the Florida legislature in
October, and there’s speculation a bill that could lead the way to
drilling for oil off Florida’s Gulf coast will be introduced.  That’s
got interests on both sides of the issue scrambling to be heard.

The Environmental Protection Agency is taking public comments until July 20^th on whether to increase the amount of ethanol in gasoline by 50 percent.  Boating advocates say any increase
in ethanol needs thorough testing before going to market.  WGCU’s Valerie Alker has more.

County Electric Cooperative is now offering “net metering” to its
customers with photovoltaic solar panels or other alternative energy
sources on their homes.  WGCU’s Mike Kiniry explains.
