Ex-Felon Voting Rights

October 6th is the last day to register to vote for the November 4th general election. But for ex-felons entitled to have their rights restored, the impact of budget cuts on the Florida Parole Commission may mean they’ll miss the deadline. Margie Menzel reports.

Ex-Offender Vote

The Florida Parole Commission says it’s overwhelmed with restoration of rights cases. Now it has established a Web site where ex-offenders can check to see if they’ll be able to vote in November’s presidential election. Margie Menzel reports.

Voters Weigh In

With its 27 electoral votes Florida is a battleground state in the race for the White House. The Sunshine State has a slim majority of registered Democrats - but was instrumental in putting George Bush in office twice. District 16 incumbent Tim Mahoney of Palm Beach Gardens beat Republican Joe Negron in 2006 for the seat left vacant by Congressman Mark Foley…who’s now best known for his inappropriate exchanges with congressional pages.
