Ensembles in Schools

Three musicians from the Southwest Florida Symphony recently performed for a crowd of fifth graders at Harns Marsh Elementary School in Lehigh Acres. The students were taking part in the Symphony's "Ensembles in Schools" education program. WGCU's Andrea McCrary reports.

FGCU's New President

FGCU's Nursing Program

Florida Gulf Coast University is making some significant changes to its Nursing Program. The program is on temporary probation because too many of its graduates did poorly on a standardized nursing certification test. WGCU's Andrea McCrary reports.

Walk To School Day & Safety

State University Tuition to Increase

The State Board of Governors asserted its power in setting tuition rates for Florida’s 11 public universities at its meeting in Tallahassee yesterday. As Trimmel Gomes reports, the move flies in the face of Governor Charlie Crist.

FGCU September 11th Scholarship

The Florida Gulf Coast University Foundation gave out its first September 11th scholarship this Tuesday to a student whose father was a firefighter who died in the attack on the World Trade Center. WGCU’s Amy Tardif reports.

Dr. Wilson Bradshaw

The outgoing President of Metropolitan State University in Minneapolis-St. Paul was at the school's helm for 7 years. He oversaw a number of transitions - including opening a new campus. Now Florida Gulf Coast University will have the benefit of Dr. Wilson Bradshaw's experience. WGCU's Valerie Alker reports.
