Cape Water Plan Nixed

The
Cape Coral City Council voted Monday night to kill a 77 million dollar
project to expand city water, irrigation and sewer services to about
6,200 properties in the southwest portion of the city.  WGCU’s John
Davis reports.

Cape Assessment Meeting

More
than a thousand people showed up for a Cape Coral City Council meeting
Tuesday night to hear and to give input about a plan to extend city
water to 60 thousand properties in the North Cape.  As WGCU’s John
Davis reports, most of the meetings speakers oppose the project.

Cape Coral Water Assessments

Last
month the City of Cape Coral mailed assessments to sixty thousand
property owners in the North Cape for a utility expansion project to
provide access to city water.  But with the slumping economy many
property owners say they’re struggling just to pay their mortgages and
can’t afford to pay thousands of dollars for a new water plant.  WGCU’s
John Davis reports.
