Growth at FGCU

Florida
Gulf Coast University started fall classes Monday with more students
than ever before. Even with all the construction underway the

Naples Botanical Garden Re-Opens

There
is a growing buzz about the re-opening of the Naples Botanical
Gardens.  The anticipation is reaching across state lines and
international borders.  With the re-opening in November, designers and
gardeners are scrambling to meet the expectations.  One of the areas
getting a lot of attention right now is the Brazilian Garden.  WGCU’s
Luis Hernandez reports on a one-of-a-kind mural that is being prepped
for installation.

Vester Marine Field Station

It’s
been 2 years since Florida Gulf Coast University bought an old 12 unit
resort that was once a commercial fish house on Estero Bay in south Lee
County.  Now it’s a Marine and Environmental Science Research Field
Station.  WGCU’s Mike Kiniry took a tour and has this report.
