Bradshaw on the Amethyst Initiative

A group of 100 university presidents from across the country have a plan they say will curb binge drinking on campuses. They suggest lowering the legal drinking age to 18. WGCU’s Luis Hernandez spoke with Florida Gulf Coast University’s president to get his thoughts on the matter.

Fay – Federal Emergency Declaration

The Florida State Emergency Operations Center remains at Level 1 activation, even though Fay has moved on to Mississippi, now as a tropical depression. As Gina Jordan reports, some rivers that have already seen major flooding are still rising.

Fair Taxes

A new effort has kicked off in Miami to cap how much local governments can tax property, while preserving tax savings. But the idea isn't new. It was tried during this year's legislative session, and is identical to another initiative already in the works. Joshua Johnson has more from Miami.
