Fort Myers resident Chris Sanchez battled nicotine addiction for most of his life. He faced the threat of losing his limbs and even death, but still couldn’t quit smoking cigarettes. But now, after almost four decades, Sanchez has found a way to live smoke free. WGCU’s John Davis reports in this, the second of a three part series.

Quitting Smoking - Part One

According to the Centers for Disease Control, cigarette smoking accounts for 438-thousand deaths each year in the U-S. And 70-percent of smokers say they want to quit. In this first of a 3 part series WGCU’s John Davis spoke with a Cape Coral woman who also happens to be an ER nurse. She quit smoking with the aim of improving her career, her health, and what she calls her “quality of death”.

SREB Progress Report
