Virtual Dementia Tour
According
to the Alzheimer’s Association more than five million Americans are
afflicted with the disease, with a new case diagnosed every 70
seconds. Folks with Alzheimer’s or other age-related dementia can
require intensive care. In an effort to sensitize caregivers, one
elder advocate created what’s called the Virtual Dementia Tour: a
sensory simulation giving people a glimpse into the mind of someone
struggling with dementia. WGCU’s John Davis took the tour and prepared
this report.
