Independent Congressional Candidate Jeff George
Incumbent Republican Connie Mack will face three challengers in November for his District 14 Congressional seat. Republican State Senator Burt Saunders…who’s running as an independent; Robert Neeld, a Cape Coral Democrat who’s run twice before, both times receiving more than 30-percent of the vote; and Jeff George, an independent political newcomer who grew up in southwest Florida. George works as a sleep test technician…and owns his own video production company. He told WGCU's Mike Kiniry that his goal is to put the people back in charge of their government…and that online video sharing is his key tool.

Barack Obama in Miami
It was Senator Barack Obama's turn to address South Florida's Hispanic community on Friday, following John McCain's campaign stop in Miami earlier in the week. Obama addressed the Cuban American National Foundation, outlining his Latin America policy. WGCU's Matthew Kay was there and has this report.

Red Sox Tug of War
A tug-of-war is beginning between two southwest Florida cities. Ft Myers is host to the World Champion Boston Red Sox. But recently the city of Sarasota found out it was going to lose its team, the Cincinnati Reds. So they decided to try and court the Sox to move a little further north. How will a move affect each city's economy in the long run? WGCU’s Luis Hernandez reports.
