Health Care Legislation in Florida

Now that Congress has passed the new healthcare overhaul legislation economic analyst Hank Fishkind discusses its impact to Floridians with Tom Parkinson from WMFE in Orlando.  By some estimates there are as many as 30 million Americans without health insurance and Fishkind says many of them are Floridians.  He says right now that number is about 4 million, but it will continue to rise…

Guy LaBree

The life and work of artist Guy LaBree is featured in a new book by Carol Mahler.  Mahler is a professional storyteller, poet, teacher, and musician as well as a writer.  She told WGCU’s Valerie Alker that she met Guy LaBree – the Barefoot Artist of the Florida Seminoles - at a musical gathering in Punta Gorda several years ago…and is now bringing his work to a larger audience.
