Eric Hall Memorial

Hundreds of people turned out Thursday in Punta Gorda to remember Eric Hall. The body of the 24-year-old former Marine was discovered Sunday in a drainage culvert – just a short distance from where he went missing February 3rd. WGCU’s Valerie Alker prepared this report.

Farm Workers Rally on Capitol Hill

Tomato field workers in south Florida say they are working for little pay in brutal conditions. They joined with several members of Congress Thursday at a rally on Capitol Hill. Sara Sciammacco has more from Washington.

Missing Marine Found

Democratic Delegates Still in Question

The January 29th Presidential Preference election in Florida was flawless. That’s according to the department of the Secretary of State - which runs elections in the Sunshine State. The Department says if voters were disenfranchised the blame lies with the National Political Parties. WGCU’s Valerie Alker has more.

Fighting Human Trafficking in Moldova

A Florida Gulf Coast Professor is back from a trip to Moldova in Eastern Europe – where he spent a week teaching Moldovan justice officials how to combat human trafficking. Justice Studies professor - Dr. Johnny McGaha – told WGCU’s Mike Kiniry that while most victims of human trafficking found in Southwest Florida come from Guatemala and Mexico, it’s a global issue that’s hit poor nations like Moldova especially hard.

A series of paintings created since the turn of the new century is on display at the Bob Rauschenberg Gallery at Edison College in Ft. Myers. The works are from the collection of Martin Margulies who speaks at the gallery Tuesday at 1:00. A longtime collector and resident of Miami – Margulies is said to have one of the top photography collections in the world. He told WGCU’s Valerie Alker that overall, the collection is eclectic – but there is an underlying theme.
