Sharkwater - the Film

A new film depicting the threat facing the world’s oldest predator is making its Florida theatrical debut tonight here in Southwest Florida at AMC Merchant’s Crossing in North Fort Myers, and Regal Bonita Springs. Power Outages

Power executives say they’re still in the dark about how a glitch at a substation triggered a blackout that cut power to millions across south Florida. The sporadic outages yesterday spanned 300 miles of the peninsula but appeared to be concentrated in the southeast portion of the state. Judith Smelser reports.

Lee County's Spay Station

February 26th is Spay-Day USA in Lee County. There are roughly 10-thousand stray animals; mostly cats and dogs in Lee County. These animals can pose a public health threat. Many are killed by cars or other animals. Those captured by animal services which don’t find a home are euthanized. WGCU’s Luis Hernandez has more on Lee County’s efforts to try to avoid that end…using its mobile clinic, the Spay Station.
