Botanical Garden Reopens

Folks at the Naples Botanical Garden are making the final preparations for their grand re-opening Saturday. But, besides the nearly 70 acres of exotic and native gardens, perhaps the shining star for director Brian Holley is the award-winning irrigation system. WGCU’s Luis Hernandez reports.

Bee Experiment

A class of Florida Gulf Coast University students is conducting a series of outdoor experiments later this morning at the Bonita Springs Nature Place…they’ll be trying to determine whether honey bees can count, and what exactly they see when buzzing past a bright RED flower. Assistant professor of animal behavior at FGCU Billy Gunnels spoke with WGCU’s Mike Kiniry about the experiment.
