Action Team's Climate Recommendations

Governor Charlie Crist’s “Action Team on Climate and Energy” recently released a set of recommendations exceeding Crist’s own greenhouse gas reduction goals. Team members say the state has much to lose if their recommendations aren’t implemented. Trimmel Gomes reports.

Inexpensive Health Insurance Proposal

The state has selected six companies to provide health insurance for residents without medical coverage. As James Call reports, the state is awarding contracts to Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Florida and
United Healthcare for statewide coverage…and four other companies to provide regional coverage.

Domestic Violence Symposium

Hispanic Aids Awareness Day

Hispanics make up the second largest ethnic group in terms of Aids cases every year in the U-S. This is why health officials are encouraging all Hispanics to get tested for Aids and HIV this week in recognition of Hispanic Aids Awareness Day. WGCU’s Luis Hernandez has this report.

Debt Relief Companies

Attorney General Bill McCollum is taking aim at debt relief companies. As James Call reports the AG’s Economic Crimes Division is taking legal action
against five Florida companies - and is formally investigating another five that purportedly offered credit counseling, credit repair and debt management services.
