Sea Turtles Released into Gulf

More than four thousand five hundred cold stunned sea turtles were rescued in Florida when prolonged freezing temperatures overtook the state earlier this month.  Now local wildlife experts are sending them back to the Gulf.  WGCU’s John Davis reports.

Migrant College

Children of migrant families seldom finish a school year on one campus – they have to go where the work is. Some change schools as their parents move around the country, take time out to work the fields or drop out of school altogether. At Immokalee High School there’s a new crop of students who want to break the mold and reach for something better. WGCU’s Luis Hernandez reports.

Manatees Return to Warm Waters

Area waterways are starting to warm up following the recent prolonged cold snap. That means manatees, which have been concentrated in warm water refuges will be spreading out to feeding areas. And boaters are urged to be on the lookout for the slow moving marine mammals. WGCU’s Valerie Alker reports.
