The Southwest Florida Symphony Orchestra is looking for a new Music Director.

Its management did not renew Michael Hall’s contract.

“Michael will pursue other options on his career path and we wish him the best in his endeavors.  We thank him for his service and musical contributions to our community,” said a press release from the Symphony.

Next season will be presented as programmed at the Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall in Fort Myers and various other places. The concerts will be led by guest conductors.

An international search will take place to appoint a new music director.

This leaves two Southwest Florida symphony orchestras without music directors. The Naples Philharmonic Orchestra also did not renew Jorge  Mester’s contract.  He conducted his last concert in mid-April.

Guest conductors will handle the Phil’s next season as well.
