Labor Day there are extra police patrols on the roads and emergency
crews are on alert. Imagine working 12 or 24 hour shifts - taking
quick naps in between – eating on the run – and often dealing with
severe injuries and death. This is a typical day for people who work
in the emergency medical services field. Their heroic efforts and
their stress are often escalated on a holiday weekend. WGCU’s Luis
Hernandez recently took a ride with some Lee County EMS workers and has
this report.
