Habitat for Humanity’s origins are seeded in Koinonia Farm near Americus, GA. It began in the 1940s as an interracial, Christian farming community. They built small, no-profit, no-interest homes for the people living within the community. Then in 1976 Millard and Linda Fullard formed Habitat for Humanity based on that model. And just recently the worldwide organization built its 300-thousandth house...in Collier County. WGCU’s Luis Hernandez was there and has this report.
