After a decade of stops and starts a memorial to southwest Floridians who died in the Vietnam War is finally in place near the foot of the Midpoint Bridge in Fort Myers. The series of black granite panels engraved with names of fallen soldiers was created by a local man who developed the technique used for the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington D.C.
