Floridians for Smarter Growth's Carole Green

Written by
A group called Florida Hometown Democracy is collecting signatures in hopes of getting an amendment to the state constitution on the November, 2008 ballot that would change how city and county comprehensive plans would be amended. The idea has gotten plenty of attention…and drawn stiff opposition from those who say it would hurt the state’s economy.

Yesterday WGCU's Mike Kiniry spoke with that group’s president - Palm Beach attorney Leslie Blackner. Today he chats with former state lawmaker Carole Green, who now chairs the Lee & Collier initiative for Floridians for Smarter Growth, that’s the main group opposing the amendment. She says while she understands the need to better manage growth…this amendment is not the solution.
