Florida Hometown Democracy's Lesley Blackner

A group called Florida Hometown Democracy is collecting signatures in hopes of getting an amendment to the state constitution on the November, 2008 ballot that would change how city and county comprehensive plans would be amended. The idea has gotten a lot of attention…and drawn stiff competition from groups like Floridians for Smarter Growth, who say it would hurt the state’s economy.


Florida Hometown Democracy’s president – Palm Beach attorney Lesley Blackner - will be in Southwest Florida tonight at the Golden Gate Estates Area Civic Association. Blackner told WGCU's Mike Kiniry that while they’ve come a long way…they’ve still got quite a ways to go…
