The South Florida Water Management District has finalized a deal to buy about 17-hundred acres of orange groves east of Labelle to create a water treatment and testing facility. It’s the first project approved under the new Northern Everglades and Estuaries Program, signed into law by Governor Charlie Crist earlier this year. WGCU’s Mike Kiniry reports.
