Southern Red Cedar
(Juniperus silicicola) 

Type:  Tree

Size: up to 45 feet tall

Zone: 8b, 9a, 9b, 10a, 10b

Habitat:  Prefers dry soil with acidic pH levels. Does well in full sun or shade.

Description:
This large tree has fragrant needles that vary in color from blue to yellow-green. It also produces small, round powdery blue berries that will attract all sorts of wildlife. This cedar provides good cover for birds, and is useful for a screen, mass planting or a windbreak.
