Art Poems
Pictures can inspire rhapsodies of words. Words can spark captivating paintings and sculptures. That's the simple yet intriguing premise behind ArtPoems, a group of poets and visual artists who use one another's works as springboards to creativity. Founded in the fall of 2006 by Sanibel poets Lorraine Vail and Joe Pacheco, ArtPoems seeks to explore and illustrate the art of creation.

Nature Art
Beaches provide a natural habitat for many sea creatures. But our coastlines can also hold an artists next masterpiece. When he needs materials for an art project, metal sculptor James Ferrari scours Southwest Floridas barrier islands in search of driftwood. Tree and plant limbs that wash up on beaches provide inspiration for Ferraris work. The woods natural shape melds with his imagination. Add a little metal, and the wood is transformed into a work of art. Imagine what this piece could be?
