WGCU Public Media Announces Nominees for
2017 MAKERS: Women Who Make Southwest Florida
Five Women to Be Named MAKERS
Oct. 24, 2016… WGCU Public Media today announced the names of the 53 women nominated by the public for 2017 MAKERS: Women Who Make Southwest Florida from Aug. 15 through Oct. 15. The nominees represent women who are impacting the arts, business, education, environment, health/wellness, politics and/or social justice.
Five women will be selected by a committee of MAKERS alumnae and community leaders. WGCU will notify the 2017MAKERS by December 1, 2016.
In its fifth and final year, the 2017 Makers will join an exclusive group of 45 women who have been named MAKERS. The 2017 MAKERS will be honored in March 2017 at the premiere of WGCU’s TV documentary 2017 MAKERS: Women Who Make Southwest Florida. Portraits of 2017 MAKERS will also air on WGCU-FM and will be archived at wgcumakers.org.
