Linda Fasulo, executive director of the Friends of the Library of Collier County, reviews books by Florida authors or stories that take place in Florida.

Submission Guidelines: If you would like your book reviewed by Linda Fasulo, here are some guidelines to keep in mind. The book should be based in Florida or the author should have significant Florida ties. It does not have to be a new release but it should have literary merit. We are not accepting self-published or self-help books at this time. If your book meets these requirements, please provide us with a review copy.

The Beginning

Florida writer Patrick Smith is best known for “A Land Remembered” - an historical  novel set in pioneer Florida.  This week our book reviewer, Linda Fasulo, looks at another work by Smith – first published in the 1960’s  Called “The Beginning” it had been out of print for many years – but a new edition was released this year.

According to some researchers by the time they reach age 85 nearly fifty percent of that frail elder population has developed Alzheimer’s Disease. In Florida, with its large elder population, nearly everyone knows someone who has the illness or is caring for someone who does. This week the book reviewed by Linda Fasulo offers some insight into the progression of this mind robbing disorder. The book is “Still Alice” by Lisa Genova.

   

Finger Lickin' Fifteen

Our book reviewer Linda Fasulo just got back from vacation and while she was away she indulged herself – devouring part-time Florida resident Janet Evanovich’s latest Stephanie Plum novel called Finger Lickin’ Fifteen.  She says it was a tasty read.



   

Rabbit in the Moon

The Boca Raton based husband and wife writing team of Deborah and Joel Shlian have published a novel that’s set far afield of the Sunshine State. And it’s intrigued our book reviewer Linda Fasulo. She says “Rabbit in the Moon” is a real page turner.
