Curious Kids
From tagging wild birds to learning the Afro-Brazilian art of capoeira, WGCU’s new children’s television program is sure to sate the hungriest of young curiosities about environments and cultures here and far away.
Curious Kids — featuring a cast of local talent ranging from 8 to 12 — premieres on Saturday, March 19 at 9 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. on WGCU-HD. The premiere show will feature steel drum playing, “The Recycling Boogie,” a visit to ECHO (Ecological Concerns for Hunger Organization) in North Fort Myers and the exploration of a tropical recipe from Trinidad.
Curious Kids Ambassador, program producer and children’s singer-songwriter Rosie Emery says each episode will include a music video featuring one of her fun songs. Revolving around three main themes — my backyard, my world and my self — segments of the show will be filmed on location throughout Southwest Florida, from the coastline to the woodlands, from interesting non-profit organizations and parks to gyms and roadside attractions. New episodes will premiere on a quarterly basis.
