Welcome to the first Connect
Blog post! We are excited to announce our new site, which includes
enhanced features for... what else.... CONNECTING! The new site
features this blog, where you can post comments, a completely
interactive forum, as well as on demand videos. Check back often as we
will be updating all the time with new, local, Southwest Florida
content.
What is Connect? Connect is an exciting multimedia initiative designed to give Southwest
Floridians a dynamic place to explore ways to connect within the
region’s diverse and ever-evolving communities. Through Connect!, the
outdated concept of a passive audience will be transformed into an
interactive, two-way street, where WGCU invites your participation. The
project will spotlight the following ways to connect:
- through the cultural arts
- by volunteering
- by living green
- through wellness
- by exploring our region
- by starting a small business
- through political action
- through continual learning
At its core Connect is a multimedia project designed to motivate new and longtime Southwest
Floridians to become engaged in community activities, to improve the
quality of life for themselves and others, and to strengthen the
social, democratic, and cultural health of our region.
